Electric Blanket testing sessions to be held at end of month

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service will be offering free electric blanket testing this month to ensure the public have a safe and risk free winter.

The annual initiative goes under the slogan ‘stay safe and warm this winter’.

Aswell as the testing service the Energy Doctor will be on hand to offer tips and advice on how to cut your energy costs this winter.

He said people shouldn’t underestimate the possible dangers associated with something as simple as an electric blanket as just last year there was an incident were a faulty blanket resulted in a local house fire.

The first testing session will be on Wednesday 26th September at the Castletown Civic Centre.
