Headteacher hails first day back at school a success

It’s the first day for some and the first day back for many today as Island youngsters return to school.

Some children in the east started completely afresh as the gates opened to the new St Ninian’s lower school, Bemahague.

Despite traffic hold-ups in surrounding areas, teachers, parents and bus drivers were able to access the site easily.

Headteacher Andrew Fox says a positive reaction from pupils was great to see.
