Manx registered vessel released by pirates, all crew safe and unharmed

Its been confirmed that the Manx registered tanker, Energy Centurion, has been released by its pirate captors and is now back under control of its Master and crew.

 

The vessel was released in Nigerian waters after being taken hostage off Togo in West Africa on Tuesday 28th August.

The pirates stole approximately 3,100 Tonnes of gas oil from the tanker’s cargo as well as cash, valuables and items of equipment from the ship, personal effects and cash were also stolen from the crew.

 

The Isle of Man Ship Registry has stressed that the best outcome has been realised with all crew on board reported safe.

They’ve also sent their best wishes out to the crew and their families following the great ordeal they’ve all been through.
