New members are wanted for a wheelchair sports club

With the Paralympic Games officially getting underway today it’s hoped the extensive TV coverage will inspire people with disabilities on the Island to take up a new sport.

In particular the Wheelchair Sports Club is hoping it will gain more competitors for its basketball and rugby clubs as it heads into its new season.

It’s an all inclusive club and also caters for able bodied players who may want to take part.

Disability sports development officer Zoe Carney says there are a lot of people on Island who would stand to benefit greatly by coming down to the weekly sessions:
