A warning has gone out about the dangers of trespassing on the Island’s railways after a report of someone tampering with high voltage electrical equipment.
Police say people walked along the railway lines in Port Erin yesterday affecting equipment which controls the barriers.
Isle of Man Railways is stressing that the risk of injury and electrocution to people who do this cannot be underestimated and says it is an unsafe environment for people to be congregating.
Police will be patrolling the area and anyone found on or near the railway will be moved on.
They also say anyone found committing an offence will be dealt with robustly.
