A new consultation has been issued looking into the duties of the Post Office.
It will aim to bring the existing 20 year old legislation upto date, taking into account the changing marketplace and emergence of new sophisticated communication technology and changing customer preferences.
Since the last review in 1993 there have been a number of technological advances in digital communication and data management which have resulted in a gradual decline in mail volumes.
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin told us they’re inviting feedback from all interested parties:
