A relative of one of the residents from the Gansey Unit who will be moved to Douglas on Tuesday says the move could prove detrimental in the long term.
The concerned family member, who does not wish to be named, says research shows that patients with dementia do not cope well with change.
She also says some of the relatives of the residents are unable to drive and will find it difficult to visit their loved ones as reguarly.
Speaking to ENERGY FM she highlighted why she thinks the move will be disruptive:
