Three rescued after yacht gets into difficulty

Three people were rescued yesterday after their yacht experienced complete engine failure near to the Point of Ayre.

Ramsey Lifeboat was launched just before 1pm to attend the yacht which was in difficulty two miles east of the coastline.

The vessel was found struggling to make headway due to the prevailing wind and tidal conditions.

The Ramsey based yacht was then secured and towed by the lifeboat to Ramsey Harbour arriving at around 2.30pm.
