Safe and sensible driving urged ahead of MGP

Fri, 17 Aug 2012

The Department of Infrastructure’s Road Safety team launched its Manx Grand Prix road safety campaign today.

Following a successful campaign that ran throughout TT fortnight, the key message remains to take extra care on public roads, particularly out of official race hours.

The tagline ‘Stay Alert, Stay Alive’ presents a concise and hard-hitting message that officials hope will leave a lasting impression on both visitors and local residents.

Chief Constable Mike Langdon, who is set to retire in December, said there are still those who choose to ignore their road safety message.

The Mountain Road will remain two-way for the duration of the MGP.
