The Manx Wildlife Trust has become the latest casualty of government cut backs.
The trust has been stripped of £15,000 from the Department of Education and Children.
This money formed part of its annual grant which went towards employing an education officer.
As a quick fix solution the Manx Wildlife Trust will have to start charging schools for the educational service - a measure which it anticipates will bring about a decline in uptake.
Director Duncan Bridges says children stand to lose out as a consequence of the decision:
