Telephone scammers target businesses

Police are issuing a warning about a telephone scam after businesses were targeted by a bogus caller.

The scammer has been telephoning companies to ask for sponsorship for a drug and alcohol awareness bookletGovernment organisations, alcohol advisory services and DASH have all confirmed they have no connection with the caller.

Police ask members of the business community to be viglant and think carefully before sending any money or giving out personal details in these types of circumstances.
