The cost of fixed penalty fines for parking offences will rise by 50 per cent from today.
For the first time in 10 years, the Department of Infrastructure is increasing the rate of parking tickets.
They will rise from £40 to £60.
A new penalty of £120 is also being introduced for people who park illegally in disabled spaces.
Infrastructure Minister David Cretney says ideas are in the pipeline to create more parking in Douglas, but he doesn't really think a lack of spaces is the problem:
