Mark Cavendish is going into today's Olympic Road Race as odds on favourite to pick up the win, and secure Team Great Britain's first gold medal.
It will be further affirmation of the Manxmen's immense talent which has seen him win the majority of cycling's top prizes, although Olympic gold has so far alluded him.
15,000 spectators will be strategically placed along the vantage points on the course which travels through six London boroughs, four Royal Parks and Surrey countryside.
The odds were changed slightly by bookmakers William Hill in an effort to give the punters extra value for what is seen as a safe bet.
