Motorists in Onchan face disruption and diversions today as a major road improvement scheme gets underway.
The Department of Infrastructure is beginnning work to replace traffic signals, pavements and road surfaces in the centre of the village.
The first part of the scheme will see Avondale Road closed from the Main Road to Stoney Road.
Buses will be diverted and access will be maintained to shops and businesses.
The works will be suspended during the Manx Grand Prix period but will then continue through to mid-December.
