Onchan MHK Zac Hall has revealed why he turned down a political membership within government.
Earlier this week the Chief Minister announced a restructure of the membership of certain departments but Mr Hall was notably absent.
After being elected last year Mr Hall took up political delegation in the Department of Education and Children but was sacked from it for not supporting pre-school plans.
Despite being offered a position in a different department Mr Hall says the discussions he had with the Chief Minister were not specific enough to convince him to take on the role.
It means he is now the only eligible politician not to be affiliated to a government department.
However Mr Hall has said he wouldn’t rule out taking up a position in future:
