Investigations into why the Island’s water supply was infiltrated by high levels of sediment are continuing.
According to the Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority it is the first time a problem like this has occurred at the Douglas treatment works.
On Sunday the public was told to boil drinking water after reservoir water which was being fed into the works was found to be of poor quality.
It’s believed to have been caused by heavy rainfall last weekend.
The boil notice was lifted yesterday and Chief Executive Peter Winstanley says even though it’s not happened before – the problem could reoccur.
