The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority has lifted a boil water notice – meaning people can now drink the water from the tap.
People were asked to boil their drinking water on Sunday evening after reservoir water which is fed to the Douglas treatment works was found to contain high levels of sediment.
It’s believed to have been caused by heavy rainfall last weekend.
The raw water changed the chemical balance of the treatment process and affected most of the Island.
Investigations have now determined that the drinking water quality is of a satisfactory standard.
The Authority has thanked members of the public for their patience while the problem was rectified.
