A major road scheme will begin this month on the main route through Onchan.
Traffic signals will be upgraded, pavements reconstructed and the carriageway refurbished.
The new traffic light system will improve traffic flow, especially when the Mountain Road is closed, according to the Department of Infrastructure.
The work will be carried out in phases from 23rd July.
The first will see the closure of Avondale Road between the Main Road and Stoney Road.
Access will maintained for homes and businesses.
Buses will be diverted around the works.
The scheme will be suspended during the Manx Grand Prix.
