The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority wishes to advise customers that the recent exceptional weather resulted in the incoming raw water into the Douglas Water Treatment Works having high levels of sediment and has resulted in a brief period of 3-hours when the quality of water entering supply was lower than its normal high standards.
As purely an advisory measure, it is recommended that customers boil the water for drinking, food preparation and cleaning teeth. This advice is for the next 48-hours.
The areas affected are:
Douglas, Onchan, Baldrine, Lower Laxey, Crosby, Marown, Glen Vine, Santon, Ballasalla, Castletown, Ballabeg, Colby, Arbory, Port Erin and Port St Mary
Customers who have further concerns are advised to contact the Water & Sewerage Authority’s Customer Services Department on 695 949.
