MHK gives cautious welcome to new Jurby pre-school arrangement

The MHK for Michael is giving a cautious welcome to news that a new operator has come forward to run the pre-school in Jurby.

Alf Cannan is pleased the service won't be lost altogether but he doesn't think that just three morning sessions per week will meet the needs of parents and children in the area.

The Children's Centre will now operate the facility after the government announced it will stop funding pre-schools.

Mr Cannan says the pre-school has been an immense benefit to the community and he will do as much as he can to ensure that a more complete service is put together.

A meeting with parents at Jurby School is planned for Friday 13th July at 3pm.
