Large parts of the Ballaugh and Colden plantations will have to remain shut to the public while a case of Sudden Oak Death is tackled.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is currently working to contain the spread of the disease which threatens a wide range of species.
However further evidence of it has been found and therefore additional felling of trees is required.
While this happens the areas have to remain closed to the public.
Minister Phil Gawne said his department’s efforts and resources were “seriously focussed” on combating the disease as it could have a “devastating effect” on upland vegetation.
