Apology from MT after Parish Walk timing crashes

Manx Telecom has apologised after the Parish Walk timing website crashed on Saturday – leaving people unable to track walkers.

There were 36,676 hits on the website on the day– almost three times the figure compared to last year's event.

Manx Telecom says it was this demand which led to technical problems.

It meant individual times for walkers were not updated when they checked in at each parish for most of the day.

Marketing Director David Smith said he appreciated the inconvenience and annoyance caused by the problem and said a full review would be conducted to prevent it occurring again.
