The Island's director of public transport has told ENERGY FM that the railways are bringing in millions of pounds to the Isle of Man – and due to this the purchase of another diesel engine is vital.
It comes after confirmation from the DCCL Minister Tim Crookall that he will request £350,000 at next month's sitting of Tynwald in order to buy a second-hand engine.
Ian Longworth highlighted how important the industry is to the Isle of Man and said the purchase of the new train would only boost an already successful market:
