Young athletes from the Isle of Man will benefit from additional support – thanks to an initiative being backed by local businesses.

Double Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes will deliver the new Isle of Man Sporting Excellence Programme to between 50 and 60 selected athletes and their coaches from a wide range of sports.

The partnership brings together Isle of Man Sport, the Coaches' Association and the Commonwealth Games Association.

It is being supported by Creechurch Capital, Microgaming and SMP Partners.

The first event in the new programme will be a two day educational camp at the NSC in September – followed by mentoring and education workshops over the next 12 months.
