It seems the Isle of Man is ever nearer to securing a new train for the Steam Railway after months of controversy surrounding the subject.
In a revised proposal Department of Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Tim Crookall will now request £350,000 at next month's sitting of Tynwald.
This is to purchase a second-hand diesel train as opposed to a brand new one at twice the cost.
Speaking to ENERGY FM, Mr Crookall said it was essential the department bought the new engine but admitted the subject has been a contentious issue over recent months:
