Karran accused of 'committing political suicide'

The Education Minister has been accused of 'committing political suicide' during today's Tynwald sitting.

Peter Karran spoke out against government plans to invest £24m in Pinewood Studios.

As a Minister, Mr Karran is expected to tow the government line.

He's already made it known that he wasn't afraid to put his ministerial post at risk by opposing the plans.

After Mr Karran had spoken, several other members remarked that he'd effectively handed in his resignation.

It now up to Chief Minister Allan Bell whether or not Mr Karran keeps his job.
