The Economic Development Minister says his department spends more money advertising the Manx Grand Prix than it does the TT.
John Shimmin was asked in Tynwald today why the MGP wasn't advertisied during the TT fortnight.
The DED took over the promotion of the MGP two years ago and says it puts more money and effort into the task than had been the case in the past.
Mr Shimmin says the reason it wasn't promoted to TT visitors was because the audience is well aware of the Manx Grand Prix and aren't likely to want to spend more money coming back to Island in August.
He told politicians they don't want to lose existing audiences but also want to attract new ones.
Mr Shimmin says last year 80,000 pounds was spent advertising the TT and £95,000 for the MGP.
