This year’s TT Festival was the busiest for a decade – bar the centenary year.
The Steam Packet Company has revealed that it carried more passengers during the two week event than in the last 10 years.
Between May 23rd and June 8th more than 35,000 passengers travelled to the Island on the ferries – a 4.3 per cent increase on the same period last year.
There was also a 3.4 per cent increase in the number of motorcycles being carried – which was up to over 11,000.
Chief executive Mark Woodward said: "As always, the statistics include all inbound numbers to the Island, including residents returning home. Therefore the number of motorbikes provides the best indicator as to how many TT visitors the Island has welcomed."
