Cable and Wireless has initiated legal proceedings against the Isle of Man Communications Commission.
It's asking for a review of a decision by the Commission NOT to investigate Manx Telecom for an alleged breach of the fair trading condition in its licence.
The company maintains that Manx Telecom is charging customers substantially more to call its mobile customers than it charges them to call their customers.
Cable and Wireless say this acts to artificially dampen competition.
Chief commercial officer Andy Bridson has said that despite their best efforts the commission has refused to investigate the matter further, leaving the company with no choice but to take legal action.
