Warning over forged UK bank notes

A number of forged UK bank notes have found their way into circulation on the Island.

Police are now urging retailers and licencees to be vigilant throughout especially during the TT period when there will be an increase in visitors to the Island.

The issue was flagged up in a popular night spot recently and it’s feared that there could be more of the money making its way into Manx tills.

Inspector Phil Shimmin had this message for anyone contemplating using the counterfeit money:
