There have been a number of cases Mumps reported to the Department of Health.
Since the start of this year there have been around 50 cases of mumps in the Isle of Man and the department is now advising people to check if they are protected.
Three of the cases reported have required hospital treatment and those affected at present include both men and women aged between 20 and 30.
Symptoms of mumps include fever, headaches, loss of appetite and swollen and tender salivary glands under the ears or jaw.
Director of Public Health, Dr Kishore, said mumps could lead to further complications:
