Bee Gees star Robin Gibb has died at the age of 62.
The singer, who was born in the Isle of Man, passed away surrounded by his wife and children yesterday at a hospital in London.
A short statement released last night said: “The family of Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees announce with great sadness that Robin passed away following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
The entertainment world has been paying tribute to the star who sold more than 200 million records with his brothers Maurice and Barry.
