The Manx Motor Cycle Club and the Department of Economic Development say they'll work together on plans to make changes to the Manx Grand Prix.
Minister John Shimmin and political members from his Department met with the club's executive yesterday to discuss the future of the event.
The DED carried out of review into the MGP festival and announced what changes it planned to make from next year.
However, the MMCC felt it was being cut out of the plans.
Some fans aren't happy at proposals to shorten the event and place more of an emphasis on classic bikes.
The two parties say they're working in the best interest of the races, and that they'll be meeting further.
