TT course dangers highlighted in new campaign

Thu, 17 May 2012

The hazards of the Mountain Course are being highlighted to road users as part of this year's TT road safety campaign.

The annual drive to try to cut the number of accidents during the festival has been launched today.

It includes the familiar message, "Stay Alert, Stay Alive" and the campaign posters show images of bikers in different dangerous situations around the course.

In the past, the aim has sometimes been to make people aware of the devastating aftermath of a crash, but the idea here is to highlight how accidents happen in the first place.

Chief Constable Mike Langdon explains what the police will focus their efforts on during the TT.[play media file below]
