The Economic Development Minister says his department hasn't ignored the Manx Motorcycle Club over changes to the MGP.
A row has broken out as the government looks to make alterations to the races.
These include reducing the length of the festival to ten days, putting more emphasis on classic bikes and holding all races over the August bank holiday.
The Manx Motorcycle club met with the Department with a set of counter proposals.
John Shimmin told Tynwald this morning that these offered little compromise as it proposed holding the same races as we have now, but over a shorter period.
However, he said the department has already listened to the MMCC over the inclusion of modern racing.[play media file below]
Ali Foster is one of the protesters who gathered outside Tynwald today to voice their opposition to the potential changes.
She believes the government has got it all wrong.[play media file below]
