MGP fans to protest against planned changes

Fans of the MGP are due to begin a protest against plans to change the event this morning.

Protestors will gather on Prospect Hill from 8.30 this morning, ahead of this month's sitting of Tynwald.

They're against plans which include reducing the length of the Manx Grand Prix Festival to 10 days, placing more emphasis on classical bikes and holding all races over a 4 day period.

Over 1300 people have joined a Facebook group for those against the changes, whilst over 3000 have signed an online petition.

The demonstration is due to continue until around 10.30.
