MMCC wasn't ignored says Head of Motorsport

The Department of Economic Development says the Manx Motorcycle Club hasn't been pushed out or ignored over plans to revamp the Manx Grand Prix.

A row has broken out between the department and the race organisers after the proposals were revealed.

The government wants to change the races so they attract more visitors and make more money for the Island.

If the plans go ahead, the changes would come in next year.

The idea is for the event to be held over four days and consist of three classic races and two modern bike classes.

The Manx Motorcycle Club looked at these proposals and then went back to the department with its own ideas on how the MGP could be changed.

Those suggestions aren't being taken up.

However, Head of Motorsport for the government Trevor Hussey assures they were listened to.
