MGP row intensifies following DED announcement

Wed, 09 May 2012

The row over the future of the Manx Grand Prix is continuing, after the Department of Economic Development released more details of its plans for the event.

The Manx Motorcycle Club is concerned that it is being cut out of the races.

The Department is asking interested parties to get in touch, saying they'll be able to contribute to the production of new regulations, something which has previously been put together by the club.

A meeting called by the MMCC last night was well attended, with many of those there not in favour of the DED's proposals.

The plans include cutting the festival from 2 weeks to 10 days, and holding all the racing over a 4 day period.

Teams and competitors wishing to register their interest can email iomtt@gov.im.
