An MHK is criticising the Department of Economic Development's proposals to revamp the Manx Grand Prix.
John Houghton raised the issue in the House of Keys today.
The North Douglas member claims there's a lot of concern about the potential changes from interested parties both on and off-Island.
Mr Houghton says the proposals are seriously flawed and alleges the Department disregarding the Manx Motorcycle Club during the consultation.
He also claims race volunteers are unhappy and plan to go on strike during the Senior TT.[play media file below]
A petition against the recommended changes has gained over 2,000 signatures and the Manx Motor Cycle Club will hold a meeting tonight to talk about concerns which have been raised.
However, DED Minister John Shimmin says they're trying to maximise the commercial potential of the races - not end the event.
He was unhappy with Mr Houghton's comments.[play media file below]
