Elderly woman dies following crash

An elderly woman has died following a crash near Bishopscourt.

It happened at around 3pm yesterday on the main road between Kirk Michael and Ballaugh.

The victim was travelling in a blue Honda Jazz which is believed to have crossed into the opposite lane before hitting a parked car and a stone wall.

Three people were freed from the wreckage by fire crews and taken to hospital, where the woman, who was from Ballaugh, later died.

She hasn’t yet been named.

Police say they have spoken to some witnesses but are still appealing for anyone else with information to come forward.
