Noble's Hospital has £145,000 worth of new equipment thanks to funds from the Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare trust.
The Department of Health has used the money on state of the art equipment, that it says it would struggle to afford in the current financial climate without the help.
A new system to load patients on and off the air ambulance is one of the purchases, the former system having been installed on the post office plane to provide another aircraft should a second air ambulance be needed.
The funds have also gone towards x ray equipment for use during surgery, and a variety of neonatal equipment.
