The organisers of the Manx Grand Prix are welcoming Government plans to make the event shorter.
The Manx Motor Cycle Club says it'll be working closely with the Department of Economic Development to ensure the survival of the MGP.
It was announced yesterday that the DED wants to cut the festival to 10 days, holding racing over a 4 day period ending on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
The club hopes the proposed changes will produce returns for the Government and private investors.
The festival has been losing the Government £369,000 a year.
No changes will be made to this year's races.
The MMC is asking for any suggestions or feedback to the proposals to be sent to MGP@manx.net.
