The Treasury Minister is hopeful that new schemes brought in as part of this year's budget will reduce youth unemployment.
An initiative giving National Insurance holidays to companies taking on new staff came into force earlier this month.
Eddie Teare says early feedback from employers has been positive, and that companies are recruiting as a direct result of the scheme.
It's hoped this will bring down the number of NEETs- young people not in employment, education or training.
Mr Teare hopes schemes from the Department of Economic Development to give young people work experience will also be beneficial [play clip]
