Police issue parking advice ahead of royal visit

Wed, 25 Apr 2012

Police are asking for assistance from the public ahead of tomorrow's royal visit.

Charles and Camilla are visiting the Isle of Man as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

They'll be attending the National Sports Centre in Douglas at 12.30, before heading to the house of Manannan in peel for 1.30.

Many people are expected to turn out to try to catch a glimpse of the couple and police want to make sure traffic congestion is kept to a minimum.

People wanting to go to the NSC are asked to park at the Bowl car park.

Inspector Derek Flint says there'll be no parking on the West Quay in Peel and it's expected the Fenella Beach Car park will fill up very early.

Peel Headlands will open for parking.

People needing any help or information should ask any of the police officers who'll be on duty in both Douglas and Peel.
