It's thought the Island could make money by allowing Douglas harbour to be used by wind farm companies.
Attention is being given to the potential construction of wind farms within Manx waters and other sites are being developed just outside our territorial waters.
The government is keen to see if the Isle of Man could benefit.
Director of harbours Captain Mike Brew says Douglas port provides a very good potential base for the turbine servicing vessels.
He says a draft development order for the harbour is almost finished and there are areas that could be developed for this use.[take cut]
