The Manx Electricity Authority is shutting its shops.
The energy supplier is to close its 5 stores around the Island, blaming the economic downturn.
The board doesn't think there is a way to make the retail section of the MEA profitable.
24 people are currently employed in the shops, and the authority says redundancies are inevitable.
The showrooms at Castletown and Peel are expected to close by the end of May, with the remaining 3 in Douglas, Ramsey and Port Erin shutting by September.
