MHK seeks baggage scanner update

An MHK wants an update on baggage scanners due to be installed at Ronaldsway.

Leonard Singer wants to know if the new equipment will be in place by the Civil Aviation Authority's deadline.

New legislation means the scanners must be upgraded by September, or the Isle of Man could lose its domestic airport status.

Funding for the scanners was approved in last month's sitting of Tynwald.

Infrastructure Minister David Cretney will provide the update in the House of Keys next week.
