Meetings to be held on constituency changes

Sat, 14 Apr 2012

The Manx public will get the chance to share its views on how voting areas on the Island should be restructured.

Tynwald wants all House of Keys constituencies to have the same number of MHKs.

Currently, 8 constituencies have just 1 member, 5 pick 2 representatives whilst Onchan and Rushen have 3.

The Boundary Review Committee is holding a series of meetings over the next 10 days to hear views from voters on how the constituencies can be changed.

The meetings take place at Promenade Methodist Church in Douglas on Tuesday, Sulby Community Hall and Wednesday, Arbory Parish Hall on Thursday and St John's Methodist Hall on Monday twenty third.

All four meetings will get underway at 7.00pm.
