Mountain closure postponed following complaints

The Infrastructure Minister has ordered the postponement of the planned weekend closure of the Mountain Road.

The route had been due to shut on 21st and 22nd April for the resurfacing of the Ramsey Hairpin and other repairs ahead of the TT.

However, the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce complained that the closure clashed with a charity fun day in the town.

The Mountain will still shut on Friday 20th April, when temporary repairs will be carried out.

The full resurfacing work at the Hairpin will now be undertaken after the TT.
