Commissioners say no to Onchan police office

Onchan Commissioners won't be making any of their property available to the police for the time being.

The local authority had considered letting the police have a base in their building after it was announced that Onchan Police Station was to close.

After meeting with the police, members decided not to make facilities available to the constabulary at the moment as a number of other parties are also interested in using Commissioners' property.

Braddan and Laxey, which were also affected by recent policing cuts, have both provided space to the police free of charge.
